SCOTT EVANS Mostly about pointing microphones at loud things.

Recording and Mixing

Lately, a lot of my recording work is “guerrilla style”. I show up at a band’s practice space, or some other makeshift space, with a mobile recording rig. We reconfigure the room for recording, then track basics over a few days. Do overdubs as needed, then I mix at home. This works great for certain bands and certain records. It’s inexpensive, it’s kind of raw, and you get results with a lot of character. We’ve done both KWC records this way, and I like the results.

In other cases I’ve been mixing tracks that were recorded elsewhere. And I’m always game to spend time in studios when budget allows.

Basically, I’ll do whatever if I like the music. I love recording.

Here’s my discography.
