SCOTT EVANS Mostly about pointing microphones at loud things.

Applejuice is a free web-based photo gallery. Its user interface is simple and uncluttered, to give your photos center stage.

Applejuice galleries can be created directly from Picasa, or by hand.

Applejuice 1.0 beta 2 (Nov 14 2006)

With source code

Terminal beta. I never finished this project. The user interface isn’t quite done, and there are a couple of planned features missing. It’s useful as is, and of course you can grab the source and have at it.

Features

  • Plugs directly into Picasa
  • Keyboard controls (arrow keys, home/end, enter to start/stop slideshows)
  • “Link to this photo” copies a URL to the clipboard; this URL launches Applejuice on the current photo
  • Right-click menu
  • UI adjusts dynamically to browser window size
  • Prioritized image loading (thumbs load in the background)
  • Image pre-fetching
  • Free!
